The Light and the Lens

The Range of Light

In May-June 1991, my brother Tim and I hiked 310 miles along the High Sierra Trail and John Muir Trail, from Lodgepole to Yosemite, in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. John Muir called this the "Range of Light". We were the first people to set out on the trail that spring. It took us 30 days of walking, each carrying about 80lb including all our food. These photos were taken on an Olympus OM10 camera and cheap lenses, using Fujichrome100. I've only added photos from the first 1/3 of the journey so far - more to come!
